(NASHVILLE, TN) February 14, 2008 – With a music-making history of over 50 years, this week Word Entertainment, through its artists, projects and other contributors, garnered 63 Gospel Music Award nominations. Encompassing distributed labels, artists, affiliated producers, published writers and printed collections, Word Entertainment has representation in 35 of 43 total nomination categories.



Word Label Group (a division of Word Entertainment comprised of Word Records, Fervent Records, Myrrh Records, Canaan Records and Word Music Publishing) garnered 33 nominations, including top categories “Artist,” “Song,” “Group,” “Male Vocalist” (Mark Schultz) as well as “New Artist.”



Leading the list with five nominations, Word Records’ Point Of Grace was honored as a finalist for “Artist of the Year,” “Group of the Year,” “Song of the Year” (“How You Live (Turn Up The Music)”), “Pop/Contemporary Album” (“How You Live”) and “Country Recorded Song” (“How You Live (Turn Up The Music)”).



Fervent Records’ artist Group 1 Crew was honored in this year’s “New Artist” grouping, in addition to a nod in the “Rap/Hip Hop Album” category. Fervent Records’ popular sister rock act BarlowGirl was nominated for “Rock/Contemporary Album” and “Rock Recorded Song.” Word Records’ powerhouse vocalist David Phelps received “Christmas Album” and “Long Form Video” nominations for One Wintry Night and No More Night: Live in Birmingham, respectively. Canaan Records’ debut signing The Hoppers’ “I’m Just Waiting For My Ride” was also singled out for “Southern Gospel Album” and “Southern Gospel Recorded Song.”



Word Distribution, another division of Word Entertainment, collected an additional 28 nominations including “Artist of the Year” (Natalie Grant), “Female Vocalist of the Year” (Natalie Grant), “Group of the Year” (Selah) and “New Artist of the Year” (Austins Bridge).



Word Music Print was represented with seven nominations, including two for “Musical of the Year,” two for “Youth/Children’s Musical of the Year,” two for “Choral Collection of the Year” and one for “Instrumental Album of the Year.”
